Gordon Thompson, Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Gord Thompson graduated with a B.A. from Bishop’s University and received his LLB from Queen’s University and has been with Zurich for 15 years. 

Formerly a partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Gord has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, advising insurance companies on corporate and insurance law matters, construction projects and related financings and international transactions.  He is a honourary Director of the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice as well as a member of The Canadian Bar Association and American College of Investment Counsel.

Gord is married with three children and enjoys swimming, tennis and hockey.
