Walter Fransen, Chief Actuary

Walter Fransen is the Chief Actuary for Zurich Canada. He joined Zurich in April 2009 from Odyssey America Re where he was Chief Agent for Canada. Prior to joining Zurich, Walter held a number of actuarial and senior management positions spanning both primary and reinsurance industries. In a previous career he spent more than 10 years working in construction.

Walter earned a BA in mathematics and physics from Concordia University in Montreal, and he is a Fellow of both the Casualty Actuarial Society as well as the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
