As Head of Casualty for Zurich Canada, Josie Walcott leads a group of managers and underwriters and is responsible for developing and delivering our casualty strategy that positions Zurich as a recognized industry leader.
Walcott joined Zurich in 1986, underwriting Property and Casualty business in the large risk area. She also spent some time underwriting Automobile Professional Liability. In 1996, Walcott joined Global Corporate and held various positions including Consumer Goods Underwriting Specialist and Director of Alternative Risk, managing large multi-line, multi-year integrated programs.
In 2006, Walcott was the Casualty lead for Zurich's Global Multinational Insurance Project, addressing compliance for international programs. In 2009, she became Chief Underwriting Officer (market-facing) for Zurich's Global Corporate business division in Canada, responsible for managing the underwriting strategy. In addition to this role, Walcott also had responsibility over various underwriting teams, including Technical, Marine, Professional Liability, Heavy Manufacturing, Forestry and Real Estate. She has over 30 years’ experience in the property and casualty industry.
