Toronto, ON, November 3, 2025 - Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch) (Zurich Canada) today announced the appointment of Paul Jackson as Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Canada, effective January 1, 2026. Jackson succeeds Saad Mered who departs Canada to take on a global role within Zurich Insurance Group. Jackson will join the Zurich Insurance Group Leadership Team.
Jackson joined Zurich in 2024 as Senior Vice President, Customer and Market Management, and Retail, where he played a pivotal role in driving Middle Market growth and strengthening relationships with customers and broker partners.
“Paul brings deep market expertise and a proven track record of leadership,” said Sierra Signorelli, CEO Commercial Insurance, Zurich Insurance Group. “His customer-first approach and ability to navigate complex market dynamics make him the ideal leader to guide Zurich Canada into its next phase of growth.”
With more than 25 years of experience in Canadian and international insurance markets, Jackson previously served as Chief Operating Officer at a leading Canadian insurer, where he led underwriting, claims, pricing, distribution, and marketing during a major transformation. Well known in the Canadian market, he also held senior leadership positions at Aviva in Canada, Singapore, and the UK.
Jackson is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sunderland.
Jackson’s appointment reinforces Zurich’s commitment to accelerating growth in Canada, building on seven years of strong performance, delivering greater value to customers and partners, and marking the next step in Zurich Canada’s strategy to strengthen market leadership.
