Jennifer Beaudry named Head of Communications for Zurich Canada

Beaudry brings valued corporate, media and government experience to new role.

Zurich Canada has named Jennifer Beaudry as its new Head of Communications, overseeing both internal and external communications for the business. Beaudry will report to Saad Mered, Chief Executive Officer for Zurich Canada. She will also be a member of the Canadian Executive Committee. Her role is effective as of Jan. 17, 2022.

“Jennifer’s impressive background in corporate, media and government communications is an excellent fit for us,” Mered said in announcing Beaudry’s appointment. “Her ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, develop strategic communications, and convey our key messages effectively both internally and externally will strengthen Zurich Canada’s positioning of our brand, people and values.”

Beaudry’s experience includes almost three years as Director of Media Relations and Senior Press Secretary for the Office of the Premier of Ontario. In that capacity, she designed and executed media plans for former Premier Kathleen Wynne and her Cabinet Ministers, as well as serving as spokesperson for Wynne and the Government of Ontario. Beaudry had previously served as Senior Press Secretary and Issues Manager for Ontario’s Office of the Minister of Energy.

Beaudry also has excelled in the corporate and media arenas. Immediately prior to joining Zurich, she was Media Relations and Social Media Manager for Intact Financial Corporation (IFC). Beaudry’s responsibilities there also included acting as media spokesperson for IFC. Earlier in her career, she was Supervising Assignment Editor for CTV National News, the flagship newscast of Canada’s largest private television network. Prior to that, she held several key roles at Corus Entertainment, Inc., including Brand Manager/Program Director for two FM radio stations and Promotions and Marketing Director for two AM news/talk stations.

Beaudry graduated with honours from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism and she also has a B.A. degree from Simon Fraser University, where she majored in Political Science with a minor in Women’s Studies.
