James Warburton

Skills and experience

As Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, James Warburton leads Zurich Canada’s technology function, responsible for technology strategy, delivery, and operations. He focuses on strengthening the technology foundation to support business growth and enhance the experience for brokers and customers.

Warburton brings more than 25 years of experience leading technology and business transformation across the insurance industry and in technology consulting. Prior to joining Zurich, he served as Chief Information Officer at Gore Mutual. Earlier in his career, he held senior technology and transformation leadership roles at Aviva Canada, including Vice President, Technology Platforms, and Vice President, Transformation Distribution.

Warburton holds a Master of Science in Physics from Durham University in the United Kingdom.
