Sonia Kundi is Zurich’s Chief Risk Officer for Canada. In this role, she is responsible for leading all aspects of our Canadian Risk function. This includes ensuring that Groupwide governance and risk management frameworks are in place and executed effectively to mitigate material risk to the organization. She provides constructive independent challenge to enhance transparency and facilitate risk-informed decision-making and is also responsible for promoting risk awareness throughout the organization.
Previously, Kundi was VP of Global Risk and Innovation at Aviva and has over 15 years of global insurance experience. She has a proven global track record in both market and group roles in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and Australia.
Educational background
Sonia is a RIMS Certified Risk Management Professional and earned her Risk Management qualification from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Canadian Property & Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation (PACICC) Risk Officer’s Forum Advisory Committee and has experience working with OSFI.
