Zurich Canada names Dane Hambrook Head of Specialty Products
The industry veteran brings proven leadership and strong business acumen to this growing team.
Dane Hambrook has been named Head of Specialty Products for Zurich Canada. He is responsible for leading the Specialties, Surety, Programs, MGA and Travel business in Canada. He is based in Toronto and reports to Zurich Canada CEO Saad Mered.
“Dane has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and solid relationships with our broker partners since joining Zurich Canada as Head of Financial Lines in July of 2019,” Mered said. “Not only is this a demonstration of the strong bench strength of our team, but also an example of our commitment to investing in our technical expertise and people to better serve our customers.”
Hambrook has 16 years of experience in the Specialty insurance market, including 5 years with AIG and 8 years as Chief Operating Officer & Chief Agent at Ironshore Canada. Hambrook will lead the Specialty team as it continues to deliver innovative solutions for unique and challenging risks.
Hambrook holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance and International Business from the University of New Brunswick.
Zurich Canada’s Specialty lines of business include Programs, Travel, Accident & Sickness, Financial Lines and Surety. The team is composed of highly technical, specialized underwriters that serve a diverse set of customers and distributors.
Hambrook replaces Greg Irvine, who led Specialty Products for the past 10 years and is leaving Zurich to pursue another opportunity.
