Dane Hambrook

Skills and experience

As Executive Vice President, Commercial at Zurich Canada, Dane Hambrook is responsible for the overall strategy, performance and execution of the Commercial segment, including Large Property, Liability, Commercial Motor, Middle Market, Specialty Lines and Captives.

He brings extensive experience managing complex, multi-line commercial portfolios and is known for translating strategy into disciplined execution, while maintaining strong governance and risk management.

Hambrook joined Zurich Canada in 2019 as Head of Financial Lines, Specialty Products. He was appointed Head of Specialty Products in 2022 and later assumed the role of Head of National Accounts in 2025, before being named Executive Vice President, Commercial. He has 20 years of experience in the specialty insurance market, including five years with AIG and eight years at Ironshore Canada, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Agent.

Educational background

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance and International Business from the University of New Brunswick.
