Zurich Canada receives 2021 5-Star Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award

Following recognition of being one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers last month, Zurich Canada kicks off the year by receiving Insurance Business Canada’s (IBC), 5-Star Diversity, Equity and Inclusion award. Our efforts supporting Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging (DIEB) and our commitment to positively impacting change in our organization and communities led to this important recognition.
IBC’s 5-Star Awards recognize outstanding service and products in the insurance sector. To determine the companies with the top Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and actions that are moving our industry forward, Canadian insurance companies were invited to share the diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives their companies have focused on over the past 12 months.
During a 15-week process, IBC’s research team conducted one-on-one interviews with DE&I professionals to gain a keen understanding of industry standards for DE&I and which companies have exceeded these expectations. The last stage of the nomination process included soliciting feedback from employees from the nominated companies to gauge the effectiveness of these programs. Those companies that scored a 4.5 out 5 and above from their employees were named IBC's 5-Star Diversity & Equity & Inclusion programs.
